The Fund Trader EA is an automated forex trading strategy developed by an experienced team of programmers over at LeapFX. They have released many trading robots over the years that they are constantly optimising and testing to ensure that they remain relevant in the financial markets of today. LeapFX software includes DynaScalp, Trade Explorer, Bounce Trader, AX Trader, Jet Trader Pro, Automic Trader, InstantEA, Funnel Trader 2.0, Arbitron, Easy Money X-Ray Robot, The Skilled Trader, News Action Trader and Econ Power Trader. The Fund Trader software runs in the industry standard MetaTrader 4 platform for desktop. It can scan currency pair charts for trading signals and execute positions automatically. If you prefer to trade manually then you can set it to manual mode in which instance it will send you a trading signal alert via SMS, email or platform notification. You can then decide if you would like to manually trade or wait until the next opportunity comes along. In this Fund Trader Review, we will take a look at the trading strategy, key features and results of this forex EA.
The Fund Trader strategy can trade up to 18 currency pairs and gold. You can choose to trade as many trading instruments as you feel comfortable with. The system combines technical analysis with fundamental analysis according to LeapFX.

The developer has provided out of the box settings but users are free to adjust the robot settings according to their own trading style. You should check to make sure that the lot or risk size is at a suitable level according to your own risk preferences.
Importantly, the trading strategy does not involve any potentially dangerous martingale money management systems or grid trading strategies whilst it also does not require hedging.
The MT4 platform does need to be constantly up and running in order for the Fund Trader EA to work correctly. If it is not feasible for you to always run the trading terminal on your home computer then you may want to consider a virtual private server (VPS). A Forex VPS will enable you to run the MT4 platform and Fund Trader EA around the clock 24/7 without needing your own computer or laptop switched on.
Let’s take a look at some of the more prominent features of the Fund Trader EA:
Automated Trading
The software trades automatically so it can be used as a set and forget system. The built-in trading algorithm conducts all of the complex market analysis on behalf of the trader. It can place, manage and exit trade positions hands-free. This makes it accessible to beginners and more experienced forex traders. Whatever your background, it is imperative to ensure that you understand the risks involved with using any forex trading system.
Customisable Settings
Although LeapFX have already optimised the Fund Trader settings over various currency pairs and chart timeframes, you can customise some of the most important inputs according to your own needs.
Free Updates
LeapFX provide free lifetime updates to anyone who purchases their trading software. What’s great about their updates is that they are automatic which can help to ensure that you always have the most recent version running.
Easy Installation
As forex robots are used by traders of all experience levels, it is important that the installation process is not too complex. Thankfully, LeapFX provide easy to follow instructions with screenshots to make sure anyone can setup the software in their MT4 platform within minutes. Full support is available should you need assistance.
When choosing a trading robot, one of the most important things to do is to check the latest results and see how it has been performing historically. Whilst this is no guarantee of future performance, it can help to give us a rough idea of the trading system being used.
The Fund Trader Myfxbook
Whilst it is great the LeapFX team have shared a real live verified Myfxbook account that is running the Fund Trader EA, we are concerned by the drawdowns of the system. You can see the latest results for yourself in the graph below. If you click it then you will be taken to the Myfxbook page where you can view more detailed statistics. Myfxbook is an automated analytical tool for forex traders that allows its users to track and analyze the data behind anyone’s trading.
Update 15/08/2022: The Myfxbook account has been deleted. It is not clear if this is because the EA crashed, but LeapFX have not added any other Fund Trader EA results for us to view at this time. Please see our trading robot ratings for an alternative option.
The Fund Trader Backtesting
There are no Fund Trader backtests for us to see how it may have performed over historical data. We would like to see the developers add these to the website as it can help potential users to make their minds up about the robot.
The Fund Trader EA does implement a versatile auto trading system which can adapt to various currency pairs and market conditions. However, the Myfxbook results so far haven’t been that impressive whilst we would also like to see some backtests of the software over a longer period of time to see how it may have performed in various market conditions. One forex robot that has both up to date results and backtests is the powerful Forex Flex EA.
